Sindh Government seeks UN help in Flood Relief Operations

Even the roads are flooded with Heavy rain waters
 KARACHI: In a joint press conference with UN OCHA/UNIC Director John Ging, the Chief Secretary Sindh Raja Muhammad Abbas on Saturday said  the relief work is under way in Sindh jointly by UN and Pakistani government.

He said initially it was not expected that rains might cause huge destruction but it turned out to be more devastating. He linked the torrential rains in Sindh with the climate change, saying changes in weather patterns caused by global warming was occurring across the world.

Local government system once again restored in Sindh


ISLAMABAD: The Government decided on Saturday to restore local government system in Sindh and make Nawabshah part of Hyderabad district..

The decision came after a meeting between Governor Sindh Dr. Ishratul Ibad and PPP leader Dr Babar Awan.

Tropical cyclone likely to hit Sindh, Balochistan on Thursday or Friday


Karachi : According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department the low pressure area in the Eastern Arabian Sea is likely to intensify into a depression, a severe weather system, by Wednesday evening.The coastline of Balochistan and Sindh will likely be affected..

The MET Department said other meteorological factors are favourable to turn the weather system into a tropical cyclone and to make sea conditions extremely rough.
